27 September 2008

Michael will be playing the title role of Erik, the Phantom from 10/18-10/26, along with Tony Award Winner Jarrod Emick (Damn Yankees, Ring Of Fire, Boy from Oz, Ms. Saigon, The Rocky Horror Show), Rebecca Pitcher (Phantom of the Opera), Neal Benari (Fiddler, Victor Victoria, Joeseph, Merchant of Venice), Ellen Harvey (Thou Shalt Not, Music Man, Most Happy Fella).

It will be directed by Casey Hushion (Drowsy Chaperone, In the Heights, To be or Not to Be)

North Carolina Observer Review

"...Michael Minarik portrays the Phantom with such vulnerability and humor that it is easy to forgive his sins"

"Minarik’s Phantom speaks volumes with his body, most achingly when Christine touches him tenderly for the first time and begs him to remove his mask. Throughout the show, his demeanor with Christine has an adolescent sense of innocence, awkwardness and discovery that makes his plight as an outcast feel universal"
